Bliss Balls

Bliss Balls are an easy way for the kids to get involved in making a snack.  We make up a double amount on the weekend and store them in the fridge as a "Grab and Go" item.

There are loads of great recipes that you can find.  I'm not a huge date lover, so I prefer a recipe that doesn't use dates.

Here is some great BB that we've found:

Chocolate Coconut Balls.

The secret here is black beans.  Woolworths sell cans of black beans for 80c.  They are really compacted and awful, and I needed a recipe to use them up.  I played around with the flavours and came up with this.

400g black beans

1 cup of dessicated cococnut

3T of rice malt syrup or honey

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup cranberries

2 T cocoa

Zest of one orange

Throw it into the food processor and spin.  If it needs more structure, add more coconut.

Once you're happy with the consistency, roll the balls in coconut and chill in a covered container in the fridge.
